My old S3 ('09) and my A6 ('11) have really solid windscreens compared to my previous (non-Audi) vehicles.
Owner reviews for windshield
The windshield on my A6 C5 original from factory lasted 19 years until a rock about the size of a bouncy ball flew off a semi and hit me on the freeway. Through the years it had been pelted countless times by different kinds of debris.
I saw someone suggest an OEM part - yes but can be very pricey. Other trusted brands are PGW, FuYao, mopar.. also ask which factory it’s from. PGW from the 904 factory is especially good
My model 3 took some serious hits from rocks with no crack.
My 21 titanium hybrid has it but is way more noisy than I expected.
Very strange how we are all having the same problem here and across other media forums.. regarding a crack windshield on a 2023 Honda crv that is also on back order because everyone in the world that has bought this vehicle is having the same issue. Isn’t strange or just a coincidence this is happening. And Honda does not want to claim or assume responsibility for using cheap glass that once a rock hits it, it starts cracking. I have and had many vehicles and never had a rock hits it and get a cracked windshield from one side to the other, it’s usually just a chip. Honda needs to recall this windshield and start paying for every cracked windshield out there. This is the result of cutting costs the consumer always pays out of pocket
I’ve had 3 windshields replaced. My current windshield is now chipped in 2 spots. I’ve given up.
Just have a couple rock chips now in my windshield, one is quite bad. Luckily, they haven’t cracked yet but I did have to replace my windshield earlier this year.
cracked the windshield right away must be junk
on windshield #2 after tractor kicked up gravel from side of highway. Was surprised as I never had that experience after driving many cars for decades.
