Kumho Tires

I've got a set of kumho ecsta SPT's and they are awesome. No sidewall flex whatsoever, very impressive tire for the money. For a 320 treadwear rating, they do a good job.

Pros: no sidewall flex, impressive

I have ASX's and for the most part they're pretty nice. I like how quiet they are and they have decent grip, only real problem I have with them is the sidewalls like to flex alot if you drive spirited, but if you dont really care about that and just want a good all around tire that does pretty damn well in the rain I would say they're a great choice.

Pros: quiet, decent grip
Cons: sidewalls flex alot

Falken Tires

The tires are 205/40/16 Falken Azenis RT-615. The wheel adapters/spacers were purchased on here from Vtec-This-Vr, and are excellent quality. There is no rubbing and the car handles perfectly.

Pros: excellent quality, handles perfectly
Cons: no rubbing

Well, about time I updated this: I went with the Kumho SPT's and have been pleased with them so far. Good traction in the dry, nice and stable in the wet, and they are very quiet compared to the Potenzas I had previously, so that's good. Two things I've noticed with them though: They are not quite as stable on uneven pavement, as they move from side to side a little more than the previous tires. Also, I haven't been able to hit the same kinds of fuel mileage as the old tires.

Pros: good traction in dry, stable in wet
Cons: not stable on pavement, lower mileage

YOKOHAMA Tires

For my A3, I went with Yokohama W.Drive's and they've been great so far...just a tad expensive! $375/tire at the local dealer...but since I needed them quick and no one else had any tires for my titanium option 18" wheels and most were sold out for the season, I said f*ck it and bought them. They should last me for a few winters...

Pros: great performance, good longevity
Cons: expensive
Vehicle: Audi A3

Goodyear Tires

A little late to the thread, but I put on 17" Goodyear UltraGrip Performance on the stock S-Line wheels on my car, and I have to say they've been phenomenal so far. I prefer a performance winter tyre for various reasons but I was right astonished at how good they are even in fairly deep snow. So day and night with the factory ContiCrap all-seasons it's not funny (those tyres will never again go on my car until lease return!). The UltraGrip Performance is apparently a tyre not originally meant/designed for sale in NA but rather Goodyear decided to bring it over from their line in Europe. So while it's a performance winter like the Eagle UltraGrip GW3, it has a totally different design and is the alternate performance winter from Goodyear (I guess it fills in some of the sizes the GW3 doesn't cover like the size that so happens to be on the A3). I got them installed the day of the first real good snow storm we had in the GTA (was supposed to get them earlier but they did not come in on time) and wow were they a God-send that day! I could not even get up the small incline to get into the business plaza where tyre shop was with the ContiPro all-seasons. It was right embarassing and even the EDL couldn't help me make it up! I had to take the side entrance/ramp which was luckily right opposite a street so I backed up down the street and went like 50km/h, hit the incline and just made it up without coming to a halt. Once the winters were on, it was like I was in another world, where snow had not been nearly as deep (though it was actually piling up in reality over the time I was at the tyre shop!). Good thing too because I had to drive to Sudbury that day and without them I never would have made it to Barrie without either dying or calling it quits, lol. 120km/h no problem where most people refused to go over 80; changing lanes to pass people over unplowed/undriven sections between tyre tracks, no problem--car was stable and predictable even at speed and changing lanes over those sections. Very impressed to say the least. Anyway that's my winter tyres story

Pros: phenomenal in deep snow, stable and predictable
Vehicle: Audi A3

Toyo Tires

My "Q" rated Toyo snows get extremely greasy as soon as the temperature gets to fifty or higher. I love them in temps below freezing, and on icy roads, but they're a little dangerous on warm days.

Pros: love them below freezing
Cons: greasy, dangerous on warm days

YOKOHAMA Tires

I still doubt it's the tires, although they are All season's Yokohama Avid H4S

Pros: all season tires
Cons: doubt it's the tires
