My A6 has 158k on it, had to do the timing chains at 150k, the car is in immaculate shape otherwise and it was too nice to junk.
Owner reviews for timing chain
I'm currently at 189,177 miles on my original timing chain on my 2012 Lancer GT.
My 06 2.4 accord is at 285k right now on original chain, like others have said as long as you stay on top of your maintenance you should be fine
I put 251,000 km on my '07 Accord I4/5MT and I was on the factory timing chain (and clutch too).
Mine has 130k miles on original chain.
Oil is cheaper than a new timing chain.
I have a 2014 Jetta 1.8TSI CPRA in my shop with 115Kmi and a broken timing chain. It's the first I've seen but still a sign of possible trouble with the T-chain on these engines.
I had the GM 3.6L in my CTS Sportwagon and it needed a timing chain replacement at 42,000 miles. Literally 2 weeks after I bought it I had to drop $3k on it.
I believe that the the timing chain goes bad a lot. And is located in a spot that some people would rather just replace the engine after the chain fails.
GM 3.6L LY7 V6 Timing chain issues, oil starvation, sounds terrible.
