Gabriel are quality parts, I put their struts on my LS400. It isn't going to make your ride worse, it'll make your ride more controlled, with less roll, squat or dive, as it isn't worn out.

Pros: more controlled ride
Cons: null
Vehicle: Lexus

But, the ride on these Bilstein B4's is pretty reasonable on the street. They are a bit stiff but not harsh. The rear is little stiffer than the front, almost too stiff.

Pros: reasonable ride on street
Cons: bit stiff, rear stiffer

Bilstein Strut assembly

After a quick survey of the struts/shocks available, I decided to go with a set of Bilstein B4's front and rear. These aren't adjustable but should match the factory spring rates very nicely.

Pros: match factory spring rates
Cons: aren't adjustable
Vehicle: Volkswagen

At this point I'm chalking it up to cheap-o OEM struts build by the cheapest bidder that managed to squeak through the requirements. With 80K miles, I'm replacing the shocks and struts soon and hoping the problem clears up.

Cons: cheap OEM struts
Vehicle: Ford Fiesta
Mileage: 128750 km

Tokico Strut assembly

The old struts were OEM tokico and while they weren't covered in oil, the bumpers were smashed and piston rebound was harsh.

Cons: bumpers smashed, harsh piston rebound
