Use OEM filter, they are better than K&N and are very affordable, I usually order 5 at a time from Toyota
Owner reviews for oil filter
Yes, these are great on my Audi’s that also have a top mounted filter. It pays for itself in one oil change compared to dealership prices.
Mobil1 0w20 and a Mobil1 Filter every 5k
I maintain 4 6.7s, in f350 and f450. Motorcraft filters and full synthetic 5w40 are my choice. I send Blackstone oil samples periodically and change them at 8k. So far, Blackstone keeps telling me I can let the oil go longer.
Mine was from May 2001, changed it out last year and it for sure made a difference.
Motorcraft oil filters are also known for being of great quality.
Purolator was the producer of our filters last time I checked. Motorcraft filters are surprisingly good considering how cheap they are. The bypass setup, filter media, housing and overall quality are higher than what you’d get at a fast lube place.
It's an AC Delco PF2057 without a sticker on it. Completely fine filter overall.
Fram are by far the worst brand I've seen. Fram filters have cardboard caps on the element that can come apart. Some of them don't even crimp the ends of the element to prevent unfiltered oil from going through the gap.
when I took off the FRAM filter there was no oil that came out. After inspecting the filter it seems like it was not filtering out the oil at all. There seemed to be cleaner oil in it instead.
