Oil filter

Owner reviews for oil filter

Manufacturers
VALEO Oil filter

In my Skoda the oil filter is located in the bottom and I still have to lift the car up and remove undercar shield. After that it is easy to just drain the oil.

Servicing the car is pretty cheap. 5 liters of Mannol oil costs just 29€ and Valeo filters aren't too expensive either.

Pros: cheap servicing, easy to drain
Vehicle: Skoda
Mileage: 20000 km

Denso Oil filter

Use a brand name, high quality oil, Pennzoil, Mobil 1 Castrol, etc. always change your oil filter and crush washer too, using OEM Hyundai filters or WIX! Mahle and Denso oil filters are also acceptable.

Pros: Denso oil filters
Vehicle: Hyundai

AMSOIL Oil filter

I'm currently using Mobil 1 ESP 0w-30 and an Amsoil filter. 2024 Rav4 Prime XSE with 44,000+ miles. Several used oil analyses flagged high fuel dilution so I want the thicker Euro oil in there and also change it early every 5,000 miles.

Cons: high fuel dilution
Vehicle: Toyota
Mileage: 44000 km

Changed the oil, and filter this summer. All well and good before. After a little while, a screeching sound from the oil filter housing. Collapsed filter? Nope. Replaced it with another new filter and same issue once again. On the slightest rev the sound is gone. No more Mann for me…

Cons: screeching sound, filter collapse
Vehicle: BMW
