Did my own oil changes with Fram Filters and Pennzoil full synthetic. Ran Fram air filters too. That's it. Nothing fancy.

10,000 mile oil changes till it hits 200k miles, then 7,500 intervals. Always using

Royal Purple and Toyota filters. Zero oil consumption between changes

Mann is OE and generally considered superior to anything else available other than the Genuine Mann part.

Alpha is good and economical. I change them on every oil change. For oil filter I use the OEM.

Liqui Moly Leichtlauf High Tec 5w-40 Oil Change with Mann Filter

Try using an OEM Honda '03' oil filter (the filter code ends in 03). This should solve the noise it makes only when the engine is cold. This happens because other filters don't retain the oil properly, causing a slight delay of about a second when you start the car to lubricate the timing chain, resulting in the noise.

I used to use fram for my beater even though it had bad reputation. Couple months ago, it finally happened. When I started my car after oil change, it SPRAYED oil not leak from the filter gasket all over my garage floor. Now I just buy a few filter at time at the dealer.

Never ever use Fram….use WIX or Purolator Pure ONE
