OEM Nissan Engine oil

Nissan Titan 5.6L took about 7L of oil. For an engine that has a typical wet sump pan, that surprised me considering the fact that most domestic pickups take 6L of oil.

OEM Nissan Engine oil

My 2003 Frontier only holds 3.5 quarts. Yes, it's made like that. For a while, I thought it just had a crappy dipstick tube and the dipstick was rubbing the sides and hard to read. Nope, oil change places and even mechanics would routinely dump 5 quarts in it. Even after I told them it only took 3.5 quarts.

OEM FORD Engine oil

My Ford Freestyle with a 3.0L takes 6 quarts, while my Pontiac Grand Prix with a supercharged 3.8L takes 4.3 quarts. Go figure. I was shocked when I saw how much oil the Ford takes.

Mobil Engine oil

On my 2015 CC with a Unitronic Stage 1 tune, I use Mobil1 Euro 5w-40. I sent a sample to Blackstone at ~7200 miles and they said I had plenty left. I change at 8500.

Pros: good longevity, plenty left at 7200 miles
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 11587 km
Part number: EURO 5W-40

Castrol Engine oil

If you want to do 5k oil changes, best to switch back to Castrol GTX or any cheapo oil as you'll have no significant advantage using synthetic for short periods of time.

Pros: cheaper option
Cons: no significant advantage
Mileage: 5000 km
