3500 to 4500 on my VR6. always mobil 1 since 20k miles....now with 88k miles.

I change every 5,000 with Amsoil in my TDI. I like to change oil and keep tabs on everything under the car, so it's worth it to me.

For highway driving on a vr6, oil should be changed every 5k. City driving is 3k. BTW, go for 5w30 Mobil 1 Tri-synthetic. NICE!

My oil changes have been all at the dealer, at 15,000KM (about 9300 miles) intervals, Castrol Syntec.

Castrol Syntec 5W50 is what I use in my car, and it didn't burn any more oil or leak at all when I made the switch at around 123,000 miles... I change it every 4,500 miles or so..

No prob....I switched to Mobil 15w50 after the previous owner's 140k worth of dino. She's dry as a bone.

I switched my GLI to Mobil 1 at 105k and experienced no external leakage. I noticed only a minor increase in oil consumption which was back to 'normal' by the next oil change.

I switched from valvoline 20w50 to castrol. No problems since. Before, my temp was going haywire. Castrol solved it for me.
