Just to let everyone know, VW/Audi recently dumped Castrol and they now roll with Mobil 1.
Owner reviews for engine oil
Liqui Moly only, imo…not worth the risk to save a couple bucks.
You could splurge out on Liquimoly if you want la crème de la crème however.
I use liqui Molly 5w 40 and love it the 5w40 is euro spec not sure the 5w30 is. Depending on your car though you could mostly likely use 5w40 and get great results
Using it for 5 years, changing oil avery 8000-10000 kikomiters, enjine souns good (as for disel car)
Liqui molly is good never tried apex but I run Mobil super and it runs very smooth
Liqui Moly is good stuff, not sure about the other one... Personally, I run Redline in all of my high mileage VW's.
I run Castrol Edge in mine, the spec exceeds API SN PLUS/SP and ILSAC GF-6, coupled with a genuine hyundai filter
I use Valvoline Restore & Protect, which claims to clean your engine and reduce friction/wear more than any other oil
I did have a 1982 diesel Jetta go 435,000 miles on oem int. shaft bearings. I had access to a lot of free Amsoil back then....so, that may have helped. However, I think it over-lubed the cylinder walls though. Rings weren't exactly what you would call 'tight.'
