No idea on diesel but I used this product on Chrysler multi-air engine that was showing strong signs of multi-air failure. Used this flush, rinsed with two rounds of oil, and the problems vanished. I think this cleaned out all the small passages and saved me a ton of trouble in replacing the multi-air unit.

Pros: problems vanished, cleaned passages
Vehicle: Chrysler

I know it’s not a diesel….but I used it in my 98’ Silverado with 425k that’s had pretty good maintenance over the years, and after 20 minutes of idle, the brown oil came out almost pitch black. Wasn’t a miracle fix for anything, but I’d say it did remove some old sludge from some nooks and crannies in my old 350

Pros: removed some old sludge
Cons: wasn't a miracle fix
Vehicle: Chevrolet Silverado
Mileage: 425000 km

XADO Engine flush

I can recommend a good engine flush from Xado (idk If this is only available in Germany or also in the States). You drain the current oil, replace it in the same amount with the flush, let it run for 30min and then drain it again.

Pros: good engine flush

Definitely buy a bottle of Liquid moly engine flush before oil change. It may not do miracles but it works wonders cleaning up the engine and maybe getting to the piston rings.

About the Liqui Moly products I highly recommend them. I’ve used their flush twice and applied Cera Tec once. I use their Leichtlauf 5w-40 oil with MANN oil filter and my engine is very smooth. Great products!

Pros: engine is very smooth

GUNK Engine flush

I have been using either ½ or 1 qt of Gunk Engine flush for more than 25 years and had no problems with seals at all, so I have no reason to try another brand.

Pros: no problems with seals

My 2014 GLI (2.0T engine) was consuming oil at one time, almost a full quart in between oil changes, and there were not any visible oil leaks underneath the car. I switched to doing my own oil changes using a cheap oil extractor I bought on amazon, Liqui Moly 2332 full synthetic, and using Liqui Moly engine flush right before oil changes, and it has made a big difference, with no oil breakdown or oil consumption in between oil changes.

Pros: no oil breakdown
Cons: oil consumption
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Part number: 2332
