My 993 C4S with “big reds” squealed when I did a brake job using aftermarket pads (Textar OEM replacements). After putting up with it for a few years, I swapped them back to Porsche Genuine pads. Squeal was gone instantly.
Owner reviews for brake pads
Brembo brakes should be your first purchase. Next you need a set of Koni dampers and lowering springs with an adjustable panhard bar. Then it will look much better and put all of its power down and stop on a dime
I switched to OEM pads and bedded them in with a few heavy stopping cycles and no squeals since.
My 986S with fairly worn out pads/rotors squealed really bad. Finally put new Brembo pads/rotors on and it’s been silent as a church mouse ever since.
Rear brake pads and rotors will not have an effect on nor cause a master cylinder failure.
I run the powerstop Z23 evolutions with no complaints and no brake shuddering
That said, I have a '22 SE that has 53,000 miles. The rear brake pads failed at 23,000 miles.
$500 for a wheel alignment and new Bosch pads on all 4 wheels. Car is a 2010 Cruze.
Bendix is horse shit. Akebono is the best.
I replaced my brakes with Akebono. But I am not going to buy it again.
