I put EBC Greenstuff and EBC discs on it, overkill brakes but nice as they are a lower dust pad, and that's after I warped the OEM and Delphi discs with it.

I\u2019ve been using Akebono pads on my Mk4 20AE for a while and have been very happy with them. Very low dust. They don\u2019t have the initial bite of a stock pad but I\u2019ve never had an issue with the braking performance. I use them for hpde track days also. Additionally, very easy on rotors.

I used Zimmerman rotors and OEM TRW pads in the back, no dust.

Depends what you're after. If just street with some spirited driving, smething like pmu hc+ or ns400 works. I do track work and used to run hc800s, but got hc+ thinking they are the same. Only 600c rated instead. But, good cold performance, and extra good performance hot. So, they don't wear out super quickly while daily driving. Got quite a lot of track days and driving out of my original hc800s with t3 rotors. But, they are harder to find. Need to get the shape from pmus website, and then find somebody that stocks them. I get mine for my AZ swift sport from RHD Japan. 3 track days and no fade etc. no squealing. A bit of dust. Endless CCrG. If you’re not tracking it then get Endless MX72+ Or Project Mu HC+ Locally you may be able to get EBC yellow stuff.

Swap the factory pads for EBC Red Stuff and buy a gallon of Adam's Wheel & Tire cleaner. The EBC pads still give off dust, but it's not as much as the stock pads and it doesn't stick to the wheels as much either.

I haven't investigated ceramic pads for the Golf R but based on the Hawk Ceramic Compound Performance Pads I have on my A4, which has huge RS4 front calipers and B7 S4 rears, I'd try them as they are quiet, generate negligible dust and are easy on the rotors.

I just installed Galfer HH sintered pads and they’ve been solid so far. Definitely an improvement from stock but they were getting pretty worn down

I have a set of these on my mustang and they're fine for daily use but if you're looking for performance go with something else

I used EBC green pads back in the 80's. Never again. They caused vibrations and even with new rotors, they again vibrated a few months later.
