I don't have much to add other than front brake calipers tend to seize (at least on trucks that have seen road salt), but replacements are cheap and super easy to DIY.

Pros: cheap, easy to DIY
Cons: tend to seize

OEM Volkswagen Brake caliper

I have done both the front and rear Golf R swap on mine. Tiguan rears are 300x11mm solid discs, Golf R are 310x22mm vented discs. Rears bolt right up, only thing to be aware of is you need to swap the electric ebrake motors from your stock calipers over, as the R calipers do not include them.

Pros: rears bolt right up
Cons: ebrake motors swap needed
Vehicle: Volkswagen Tiguan

POWER STOP Brake caliper

I installed the full power stop kit, drilled and slotted with the extreme pads and red powder coated calipers. All work very well and still look good after 13k miles or so.

Pros: work very well, look good
Mileage: 13000 km

I ended up going with the CTSV brembo front brake swap from CTSVbrakeswap. It comes with two 4 pot brembo calipers and a mounting bracket. You’ll have to drill into the knuckle to account for the bigger top bolt the brembo uses and tap the bottom hole. Overall though the braking kicks ass and bites much, much harder than stock with little to no brake fade after 5+ stops.

Pros: harder braking, no brake fade
Cons: requires modification
Vehicle: Subaru

Yep, got them on yesterday. Pretorias will need 15mm spacer, not 10mm as I originally measured. They feel so much better than PP. So easy to modulate. Worth every penny.

Pros: easy to modulate

STOPTECH Brake caliper

I have the Stoptech setup. One major thing I'll warn you about is wheel fitment. Finding rims that clear the calipers is a HUGE pain in the ass. It's really tough.

Cons: difficult wheel fitment

A brake caliper on my T-5R was not releasing correctly and I got a used one for $70. I think the other side needs replacing now too.

Pros: got used one cheap
Cons: not releasing correctly

Just wanted to update this thread. I too have a 2013 vw beetle. I originally put on the mk5 r32 front calipers which was rubbing on my rims. They were squeaky and the brake response was way too much when just pulling out when first started.

Pros: dust cover works perfectly
Cons: rubbing on rims, squeaky
Vehicle: Volkswagen Beetle
