I went to the auto parts store recently to buy an air filter. They only had one in stock, an STP. When replacing I noticed the old OEM one has around 100 pleats, the STP has around 65. I'm guessing more pleats = more surface area = better air flow. I didn't notice any difference driving it though. I think next time I'll buy an OEM one.

STP premium air filter has been working for me for a while now. I've had no issues with it and it was $20 USD.
I just replaced both filters on my 2010 Corolla, got them at Autozone and it took me about 5 min total. STP is good for both…no need to go OEM.
