OEM Nissan Starter motor

For me it’s mostly can I fix it myself or not. My Nissan and Infiniti don’t really break down, I’ve had instances of it just not starting, which is usually always battery or starter. Otherwise a leak or a suspension piece will show wear

It wouldn't surprise me if your having issues with a replacement part even if it's brand new. New parts have been getting shitter and shitter. Even if they come from well known brands or even the OEM manufacture. I had 3 starter motors fail on my Nissan.

Pros: Original lasted 400,000km
Cons: two failed in less than 1,000km
Vehicle: Nissan
Mileage: 1000 km

OEM Nissan Starter motor

I own a 2012 Nissan Frontier & just got a new starter installed. Bill came in at just over $700. Shop has a great reputation, I've been using them for years.

Pros: shop has great reputation
Cons: price jumped over years

Replaced my Nissan Frontier starter ever since i had trouble starting the truck. I went ahead and replaced it and now it still has a slow start and stutters a bit when I crank.

Cons: slow start, stutters

OEM Nissan Starter motor

I had one on my last two MTs (07 TL-S and 03 Maxima) and they both had am \"arming\" procedure to do before exiting the car, like spjoneSI said. Basically what it came down to was the car stayed running when you took the key out of the ignition, and turned the car off & armed the starter when you exited the car & shut the door. Doing that told the starter \"the car is stationary, brake engaged, & running - so it must be in neutral & safe to start.\"

Pros: worked well
Cons: door-sensitive-arming complicated
Vehicle: Nissan Maxima
