I had a (similar) 2010 Golf 2.5 with B4s all around and they really can't be beat for the money. Slightly firmer ride than stock, nice handling, quite affordable.
For example I've got... Bilstein shocks/Koni Adjustable Shocks with Bilstein springs.
Shockworks makes good stuff and coilovers for a BF Falcon cost around $2500 + installation, a set of Bilstein shocks and King springs , cost me around $1500 , then add installation.
So I went with Bilstein w/ H&R Sports. Also keeps with the H&R theme as the car came with an H&R RSB \ud83d\ude01. Suspension is finished now, also added Megan Racing Adjustable rear control arms, and it rides great now.
Would say go with some Bilstein B4 shocks and OEM parts.
The original ones where blown at 60k miles. Going with Bilstein Sports.
Bilstein is also great products and also provide OEMs but they’re usually a bit pricier. I have some on my ‘02 Mustang and they’ve been on there almost 20 years without issue.
so far I've got are H&R sport springs and Bilstein B8 shocks/struts
I have to say for just comfort the bp-51s are amazing. And I have extra weigh so dialing in the settings was perfect.
Previous owner put Bilstein HD's in my current 240D. Love 'em.
