I have a 2012 C30 T5 and I’m the original owner. Great car. Only had one issue with the ignition switch. Currently has 135k on it . Hugely reliable and great to drive. I honestly love the car.
Volvo parts reviews
It's reliable. Mine hasn't needed more than recommended maintenance for nearly 10 years. I just changed some bushings that were due because of age and now it's good for another 10 years. If this car has been well maintained, buy it! This is a great car, you can't go wrong.
Who the hell told you the C30 is unreliable. My mechanic started his own shop after working for the big regional volvo dealership for 15 years. He told me that of all the Volvos he ever worked on the C30 stood out significantly as being the most reliable. It was built on the P2 chassis, but since it came out years after the first P2 chassis cars, it was able to have a lot of significant improvements/upgrades/fixes over the other, older P2 cars. He told me that over time the mechanics would get so frustrated whenever a C30 came in, because every single time all it would need was a basic oil change or brake pad replacement, never any major work.
The 2.4 in my 2006 S40 was stone cold reliable to 157k miles before I sold it. Needed a new alternator at about 145k but that was it. It’s been 2 years and I still miss driving that car. The BEST front seats of any vehicle I’ve driven or ridden in.
Some of the smaller engines are crap and give the p1 platform a bad name... I'm looking at you 1.6d ????
T5's require maintenance but are pretty bulletproof. In 5 years of ownership the only time the car has let me down was a radiator leak.
My old 04 Volvo Xc90 had 311k on the dash before the alternator gave up lol. Doing better than that!
I used to use German Castrol 0w20 in my Volvo and it was green too.
If your car has HUD then check that the after market windshields do not blur the HUD display. On Volvos the aftermarket windshields blur the HUD image.
Last time it went for a service I was advised rear brake pads are 90% worn and needed changing (they had fitted new rear brake pads 8 months previously).
The brakes made of wet cardboard is the only disappointment I have with my 2020 XC90.
