Since then, I've changed my oil to a low SAPS VW 504 Mobil 1 5w30 ESP X3 which according to lubrizol has superior resistance to deposit and sludge formation. At this point, I've got consumption down to around 1qt/1400 mi which is a great improvement from where it was before. Hoping for further improvements with time but pleased with progress.

I went with the FCP euro replacement kit, the zimmerman rotors have been fine (another 35k on them), the texar pads work fine, but dust more than OEM
I used that exact oil with a Mann filter on my 2013 Jetta SE for every oil change. Just sold it a couple months ago with 178k miles on it with 0 serious problems the 10 years I owned it
Had one that came with my 84 VW Jetta. Easiest jack to use to change a tire. Can be dangerous if not used correctly though. But that's the same with all jacks.
I’ve owned both AS4 and DWS 06 and would recommend the DWS 06 for your use case. better wear characteristics and more grand touring / balanced street comfort vs performance compared to AS4. AS4 is a fantastic tire - but I would only run it on a performance car like GTI, R. It was overkill on my Alltrack. I liked the ride on my GTI with AS3+ a lot though. I’ve ran the DWS06 on my gf’s JSW TDI for 3 years 30K miles now and they look new, barely any wear. I also live in Philly and the DWS are super forgiving in 235/45/17. Much more than the AS4’s I had in 235/40/18 on the Alltrack.
Continental ExtremeContactSport DWS 06 Plus I just put a new set of the above (225/40/18) on my Winter wheels which are VW OEM Sevilla. They came on the 35th AE Jetta GLI. I had the DWS 06 and 06Plus on my MK5 and MK7 GTI - love them for an A/S tire. They are quiet, ride nice, superb wet grip, excellent dry grip, pretty good in Midwest snow.
About a day ago my starter completely went out on me... and just today I got finished putting an ABA starter into play. Absolutely love how much better it sounds and it has no problems getting things turning.
I would pick the Ecopias, they are reviewed much higher than the Kinergy tires on tire rack (but far from the best). I got the Kinergys on mine and they are ok, but if it rains they are not the best and slip easily.
I was fairly unimpressed that the brand new rotors out of the box have some surface rust. I suspect these have been on a shelf for a long time.
changed my oil filter that apparently collapsed with a Mann brand and it definitely worked after a month later with no light the darn oil light came back I just redid my filter and oil but it came back getting on the freeway
