Best Shock absorbers for Volkswagen Golf

Get bilstein B4 OE shocks. Decent price and will ride like stock.

Koni yellows. I have run them on my GLI and currently my MkVI GTI and they are great with lowering springs.

I put Bilstein b6 on mine but you’d have to probably do the front too if not going with OEM stuff. I also put 034 mounts which are fine on the front but I’m about to go back to stock on the back due to noise.

I've got the B6 DCC on my 19 Golf R. Overall I really like this upgrade. I will say that I don't think the Bilsteins made a world of difference compared to the OEM shocks/struts, but the springs seem to have the car more settled and less frantic and ready to bounce off the road over every little bump.

I strongly recommend you also consider changing the shocks/struts out for Koni Special Actives. They are better than OE in every single way - performance and comfort.

My DCC struts and shocks blew out and I was about to bite the bullet and order isweep cancellers along with a set of bilstien b8s. You just saved me $500 and a lot of headache from a less than ideal delete.

I'm on H&R Sport springs and B8s on my 4Mo GSW - great setup.

I had GR-2s on an old Mk3 Golf. They were fine.

I can relate. My B16's made strange noises from day 1. Then after a few months one of the rears collapsed. I gave up and just put the original stock shocks/springs back on.
