Ditto on the Nokians. On three Touaregs, I've had Dunlops, Pirellis, Falkens, Hankooks and am on my second set of Nokians. It's night and day.
Volkswagen parts reviews
I bought a set for the B4 Passat I traded in earlier this year, and reviewed them in that thread starting on 22 April; they weren't bad -- far better than the stock NA headlights.
Car's is running smooth with the new wires and NGK spark plugs.
i always used 15w40. usually shell rotella in all my old diesels. sometimes i used castrol. but it was always 15w40
Given that it's almost guaranteed that this was not a turbo engine originally (the lack of factory air filter is another clue) she'll run hotter than usual and so a quality oil is a good investment.
Okay so the proof is in the numbers. Video's and Pics Provided... 2004 New Beetle Convertible 1.8T 6 Speed Manual Transmission Swap (Trans is from a 2004 GLI) (stock 02m clutch) ATP Hi- Flow Exhaust Mani ATP Eliminator 2 Kit w GT3071-WG ATP 3 Inch Inlet for Eliminator Kit HKS Manual Boost Controller TurboXS Blow Off / Diverter Valve ABD Front Mounted Intercooler ABD Intake Manifold Eurodyne 630cc Mafless/Emissions Delete/Cat Delete Tune Seimens 630 CC Injectors 2.5" Techtonics Tuning Turboback w/Hi-Flow Cat & Borla Muffler Dynos without Water And Meth: First Pull yeilded 310WHP See here: Video Here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMYhB3jWiVw 2 Pulls later heat soaked the Eliminator kit did 294 WHP. EVERYTHING BELOW IS USING WATER & METH So we had run the car 4 times it was time to just add water and methonal to the mix to see what would happen! This brought us up to 313WHP just after the car was at 294 without adding water and meth.. See the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBOClLqmPPM Okay now lets bump this mutha's timing up and see where it gets us... 345 WHP! YEP.. 345WHP http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9OUlRkaI6Q So there ya have it!!!! I did say that this car was around 340-350 and I was correct! The Water and Meth allowed us to really push this thing and we gained some serious HP on this kit from the heat soaked run of 294WHP to 345 WHP!!! THATS 51 WHP AS A RESULT OF THE WAI!!!!!!!
As far as the Bridgestone tires, I have ran them for 2 years and they have been an excellent all season tire. They do everything well and easily beat the factory tires.
I was using 1 quart every 1000 miles on my o6 2.0t GTI, I actual changed to 5w40 Mobil Turbo Diesel and have gone down to about 1 quart in about 2200 miles also check you pcv as they are notorious for going bad.
I have the model 35 and the stock cover does fit over it: As far as long term, I haven't been super impressed... I've had my redtop die a few times over the last few years, not even from extended use... however it did get rid of issues I had with my lights dimming from the sub and if I decide to drive upside down it supposedly can handle that
My W8 wagon had fuel leaks a couple of times. A few months ago, it started leaking again, on the driver's side near front of tank. There was a crack in tank, mechanic said "this is a common failure" on Passat tanks.
