Sailun Tires

For a Corolla, mixing one odd tire isn't the end of the world, but if you've already got one Sailun on there, paying the extra $100 to make all four match is usually worth it just for consistent grip and braking especially since you're in NJ and see winter nastiness. Sailuns aren't fancy but they're totally fine for daily driving

Pros: consistent grip and braking
Cons: aren't fancy

OEM Toyota Tires

Fwd with snow tires in the winter isnt a bad option. You can't win every battle but itl do for 99% if the driving. I live in northern WI and we drive all over the place with Prius' and snow tires no problem.

Pros: not a bad option

Denso Engine radiator

my 2005 4Runner Limited 4WD V8 that I bought one year ago with only 55k miles on it (well maintained time capsule), was just fine. Zero leaks from the radiator or anything. At 65k miles I went ahead and replaced the radiator with a Denso unit.

I figured going from a life in SoCal to southeast Texas summers would tax the radiator. Plus, 55k miles in 20 years, and now I’ll put about 20k miles a year on it, would likely make the original radiator go pop at the most inconvenient time, surely.

Pros: zero leaks
Mileage: 65000 km

OEM Toyota CVT transmission

I’m driving my 9th Toyota (a 2018 Camry SE) and I work for Toyota. I’m NOT happy that Toyota decided to make Camry a hybrid ONLY car with CVT transmission. NOT HAPPY! I want POWER and I want a transmission that can deliver it to the wheels… ALL OF IT, without having to worry about tearing it up! CVT transmissions are NOT reliable and they don’t last!

Very disappointed!

Cons: not reliable, doesn't last, disappointed
Vehicle: Toyota Camry

OEM Toyota Cylinder head
Teuton88
  • Performance:
Rating 2.0

I had the same issue with my 21 TRD sport at 19k miles. They ended up finding “excessive scaring” in multiple cylinder heads. I ended up getting a new short block under warranty. The whole ordeal took a month and the ticket was $18k. I traded the truck in 2 days after I got it back.

Pros: replaced under warranty
Cons: excessive scarring, long repair time
Vehicle: Toyota
Mileage: 19000 km
