Enjoy those! I have a set on my Matrix, for street tires they are silly grippy, at least on that car, much better than a tall econobox has any real right to. I've tried some others, but keep coming back.
I've had nothing but General tires on my car for the last 8 years. With my Matrix XR AWD it was General Altimax HP when the OEM Goodyear Eagles were done. I went through two sets of the Generals and loved them. With the GLI, I had OEM Dunlop SP Sport that sucked. I replaced them with a set of General G Max AS-03's and again have loved their return for wear, performance, and noise. They handle just as good in the wet as they do the dry.
We've just been through the worst winter in many years and our matrix has done very well with the factory tires. If you're not going off road fwd is fine. The deepest unplowed snow I drove through was about 8 inches and I felt like that was pushing it.
