On Tuesday, I had new tires put on the car. Nothing special, some goodyear assurance all seasons. The new tires made a big difference in ride quality and handling.
Subaru parts reviews
Wix is considered to be good, and it’s not expensive and readily available (can walk into local O’Reilly and buy off the shelf). Subaru OEM works if you’re close to a dealership or think to order it; I never remember to order and my local dealer is terrible, so I avoid them.
In Paraguay best race brands are Motul and Liqui Moly, I choose 10w40 Liqui with Ceratec for my 2000 wrx.
Honestly, go with the premixed Subaru blue coolant. It has the correct additives and will not harm the engine.
I always keep a gallon on hand and only needed to top up small loss from summer driving in my previous Outback.
I'd also recommend the Bosch icons.. every auto parts store will tell you they won't fit, but they do. The connector is even pictured on the box.
The summer Dunlops that come with the VB are not good for winter use. I'd suggest getting winter tires or at least all weather tires to be on the safe side. I got Michelin CrossClimate 2's and will be rolling into winter with those here in eastern Oregon.
it was from the garbage head gasket era, and it still had its original factory head gaskets on it when I finally pulled the motor to turbo swap it earlier this year. It had 270,000km on it. So overall, for 10 years of ownership it was pretty damn reliable.
my 2015 had the same exact AC issues. It would come and go cold air wise. I'd be on the highway and it would be blowing warm air. Another day it would be fine, etc. There ended up being a TSB out about the problem and Subaru replaced my AC compressor (back in 2015 or 2016) for free.
I recently installed a Gates timing belt kit with pulleys and water pump in my 2001 Forester. Unfortunately, the water pump where it mates to the engine was not machined completely flat and had a very small leak. I ended up having my mechanic remove it and put a stock Subaru one in while he was working on my clutch.
I’m on like my 5th windshield. I’ve got a split running across half the windshield now that I just have to live with because of these absolutely ridiculously priced windshields that will inevitably crack in less than 30 days after replacing.
