Rating 5.0

Definitely get NGK’s - the parts store I went with initially gave me other plugs and even with a new DIC the engine was still misfiring without NGK’s

Pros: engine was not misfiring
Cons: engine was misfiring

NGK Spark plug

Car is very picky about spark plugs because it uses the spark plugs as knock sensors, I used basic NGK copper plugs and replaced every 10k. Very easy to do.

Pros: easy to do
Cons: car is very picky
Vehicle: Saab
Mileage: 10000 km

Nissens Engine radiator

Best one to get is the Nissens 68001A. I just put one in my 2000 9-5. For some reason Rock Auto only lists it as fitting 2001 but it will fit a 1999-2001.

Pros: best quality, good fitment
Vehicle: Saab
Part number: 68001A

Autolite Spark plug
Saab9-5guy
  • Idle:
  • Acceleration:
Rating 5.0

I found that it had Autolite Iridum spark plugs. They didn’t look bad and were gapped appropriately but I replaced them anyway with the recommended NGK spark plugs. Car has ran perfectly since then with no misfires or stuttering.

Pros: car ran perfectly
Cons: misfires and stuttering
Vehicle: Saab

Hankook Tires
TheDeckMan
  • Grip:
  • Noise:
Rating 4.5

Used the V12's on my Saab, good wear and quiet and get about 35-40k miles out of them. R-S3's for rain tires on my track TT, they work well for both slightly damp track days and in the heavy rain. On the street they are quiet compared to the Nitto NT-05's and last longer 30k miles normally opposed to 15-20k.

Pros: good wear, quiet
Vehicle: Saab

Shell Engine oil

  • Engine noise:
Rating 5.0

I have always used 15w-50 on VR6's and 5w-40 on 1.8t's and 10w-60 on the track cars. Try out Rotella T6 5w-40. I ran Motul 5w-40 on my 911 and it made tons of extra noise, went to Rotella T6 under advice from my tuner and it quieted it right down. Been using it on my Saab as well which has a noisy chain setup as well and it worked wonders.

Pros: quieted the engine noise
Cons: made tons of noise
Vehicle: Saab
