OEM Mazda Windshield
Lurch000X
  • Clarity:
Rating 5.0

my insurance on my CX9 with HUD would cover only the aftermarket. I could pay the difference but was assured it would be fine.

Three windshields later they replaced it with OEM. And it was perfect.

Pros: perfect performance
Cons: aftermarket blurry HUD

OEM Mazda Windshield

I had mine replaced... took a good sized rock to the windshield on our Premium trim PHEV. (Heads up display, lane monitoring, ect.) The smashed middle of the damage made repair a no go.

I did it through Safelite and they used an OEM because there was no aftermarket available. Glass Only Repair Insurance saved us $2,000.00 out of pocket after glass, install and recalibration.

Pros: OEM available, insurance savings
Cons: rock damage, repair impossible

Hankook Tires

Yes, I had the Hankook New Englander 205/55R16H for about 4 years on my Mazda 5, and they had just over 60k miles on them. I liked them enough to buy the same thing again. I'm in Massachusetts and they feel great in all kinds of New England weather. I do a lot of driving to work including highway and city. They are grippy in rain, snow, sleet and every combination even at highway speeds. I did get a bulge in the sidewall and kept driving them the last 5-10k or so, even though I knew better. (Don't do this even though it never popped on me.) There was still a little wear left on them, but you have to replace a tire with a bulged sidewall, so I got all 4.

Pros: grippy in all weather
Cons: a little loud, expensive
Vehicle: Mazda 5
Mileage: 96560 km

OEM Mazda Oil filter

Mazda recommends their oem filters on skyactive motors. Its because they dont have the flaps that keeps oil pressurized. Any wisdom says you dont need it but go ahead and buy them online as I paid $5 per.

Pros: recommended by Mazda, good price

OEM Mazda Wiper blades
Journey2Jess
  • Wipe quality:
  • Streaks/chatter:
Rating 3.0

The other 4 cars in the family all do better with heavy rain than the CX30 did when I got it. I did figure it out after a while. Step 1 re-bend the wiper arms by hand just a little so they have more firm contact with the glass ( old mechanic trick ), Step 2 Rain X the glass using the wipes not in the washer tank, Step 3 front defroster on cold. This works for me in Florida torrential downpours at 90 degrees, 80% humidity and 1/2 inch per hour rain rate while doing 65-70. Works way better now. I still use auto mode for wipers most of the time, but I do use high for anything over a light rain as they are still a little slow compared to the 2018 Escape, 21 Tahoe or even 87F150. My other Mazda is way better as far as wipers go.

Pros: works way better now
Cons: wipers initially slow, still a little slow

Toyo Tires
Glad-Marketing-2627
  • Noise:
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 1.0

I have the Toyo A36 tires on my 2025 Mazda CX5. I dont think I've had a

worst set of tires on a car. You hear and feel every tar strip or road

imperfection. Noisy and hard riding. It feels like the tires are inflate

to 50 psi. Only 1,500 miles but will be replacing them soon.

Cons: noisy and hard riding
Vehicle: Mazda
Mileage: 1500 km

OEM Mazda Thermostat
WhiscashWarrior
  • Overheating:
Rating 1.5

Our 2022 CX-5 Premium Plus (non turbo) is going in for its 3rd thermostat replacement next week. Each time it’s been replaced at Mazda under warranty with an OEM part. Vehicle will hit 90,000 Miles this month. Does this thermostat wear seem excessive or is it normal for these? Bought brand new and it’s been the only problem, other then general maintenance

Cons: repeated failures, excessive wear
Vehicle: Mazda
Mileage: 144841 km
