MICHELIN Tires

I wore them in my old Honda Civic Type R EP3 going in mountain pass spirited drive and the behaviour and grip was good. Never a bad reaction or scary. Obviously in wet you have to be prudent because these arent a Michelin Pilot.

Pros: good behaviour and grip
Cons: prudent in wet conditions
Vehicle: Honda Civic

TYC Cooling fans
Chelly07
  • Fan operation:
Rating 4.0

I just replaced both of my fans a month ago on my 2008 ex. I went with TYC fans from Rockauto. The job was pretty easy. I did everything from above. The hardest part was getting the wires unclipped off the bottom of the passenger side fan. I removed my battery and tray as well as metal bar in front. There is one bolt at the bottom (most are at the top) to remove that metal bar/beam/crossmember thing but if you remove the battery and tray it’s easy to get at from the top.

Pros: easy installation
Cons: hard to unclip wires

OEM Honda Timing chain

I got a honda civic 2008 with a 2.2 ctdi engine that has 294000kilometers in it and still has the original timing chain. honda engines of this era at least in the EU are known to LAST, whether its diesel or gasoline…no rattling=you don’t need to change the timing chain.

Pros: long lasting, no rattling
Vehicle: Honda Civic
Mileage: 294000 km

Denso Fuel pressure regulator
DisastrousWafer1117
  • Smooth driving:
Rating 5.0

I purchased a fuel pressure regulator for my Civic from RA after looking at the pictures and was able to make out the DENSO stamped on it. It was a rebranded part that was an OE DENSO pressure regulator for $70 vs $130 vs the stealership!

Pros: OE quality, good price
Vehicle: Honda Civic

OEM Honda Steering gearbox
Characterskater
  • Steering play:
  • Noise:
Rating 1.0

I live in Japan and have this exact problem in my 2021 civic ex. It gets somewhat locked after a few kms on the highway and then you hear clunks and it feels like it's lightly locking up when turning in either direction. I took it to my local dealer here in Niigata and after two test drive sessions they called the manufacturer and they said it is the EPS (electronic power steering) otherwise known as the steering gearbox that is bad and they are replacing it this Friday (5th July 2024) and if there are still any problems after that they will replace the whole rack.

Cons: gets locked, hears clunks, EPS is bad
Vehicle: Honda Civic
