Falken Tires

I recently purchased a set of 235/50-18 Falken Wildpeaks for $500CAD...typically $1500CAD and the tires looked brand new (about 5 months of driving on them according to seller). They ride awesome on my Maverick and I will continue to buy used tires.

Pros: ride awesome, looked brand new

Mobil Engine oil
OzarkBeard
  • Engine noise:
Rating 5.0

I've been having my Hybrid oil changes done around 12k ODO miles (~6k ICE miles). Mobil 1 Hybrid full synthetic oil. Blackstone says very little oil contamination at all and additives all still in great shape. In comments, they say I can go longer.

Pros: low contamination, good additives
Vehicle: Ford Maverick
Mileage: 6000 km

Make sure the shocks you buy ars KYB. These cars are heavy and have a tendency to eat cheap shocks.

OEM FORD Turbocharger

Replaced the turbo here also at 40k under warranty. I don’t trust it. We are getting out after warranty is up. Love the concept of the car, too bad ford can’t figure out how to make a quality engine. The turbo being back ordered for weeks and just this thread alone kinda confirms there is probably a widespread issue ford hasn’t announced yet

Pros: covered under warranty
Cons: turbo replacement needed, don't trust car, quality engine issues, back ordered parts
Vehicle: Ford Bronco
Mileage: 64374 km

OEM FORD Spark plug
thegadgetfish
  • Idle:
  • Acceleration:
Rating 1.0

During a 300 mile trip in 100 degree weather, my car decided to start shaking horrendously, and the check engine light started blinking. Ford Pass notified me of a cylinder misfire. Apparently the spark plug was missing a piece, and there was extensive damage. Metal debris throughout the engine, turbo charger, multiple lines and drains. Everything has to be replaced.. but luckily it’s all covered by the 5yr/60k powertrain warranty. Such a huge failure at 46k miles is disappointing. I love the car but definitely have trust issues now.

Pros: covered by warranty
Cons: spark plug failure, extensive damage, disappointing reliability, trust issues
Vehicle: Ford Bronco
Mileage: 74029 km
