OEM Audi Timing belt
higgimonster

Rating 4.0

An old Audi belt motor goes 240k and the belt is still holding. I had a 2013 A4 2.0 that stretched the ~~belt~~ chain* at 70k and the valves kissed the pistons.

Pros: belt still holding
Cons: chain stretched
Vehicle: Audi A4
Mileage: 240000 km

Vehicle: Audi A4
Mileage: 250000 km

EBC Brake discs
soupy
  • Braking:
  • Vibration:
Rating 4.0

I've been running slotted and cross-drilled rotors on my A4 for 5 years. I've never had one crack, but I don't autocross. For my latest set I looked for drilled, but not slotted, rotors because my last set buffeted at high-speed braking, which feels shaky and unstable, and I read that was because of the slots.

Pros: never had one crack
Cons: buffeted at high-speed braking
Vehicle: Audi A4

BRIDGESTONE Tires
Jason4
  • Grip:
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 3.0

I'll repeat the recommendation for the General Arctic Altimax and currently have them on my 2012 Golf. My previous Audi A4 had Blizzaks in the winter, they handled poorly (soft sidewalls) and wore very quickly but stuck well in our wet snow.

Pros: stuck well in snow
Cons: soft sidewalls, wore quickly
Vehicle: Audi A4

ATE Brake caliper

I had the hp2 calipers on my A4 and hated them. The ATE calipers are much better and the pads are cheaper.

Pros: ATE calipers much better
Cons: hated hp2 calipers
Vehicle: Audi A4
