had a large rock destroy the windshield of our Forester with EyeSight. The third-party shop (SafeLite) replaced it with OEM Subaru glass and recalibrated the EyeSight, and for the few months between then and trading it in we had no issues with the EyeSight at all.

Pros: no EyeSight issues
Vehicle: Subaru Forester

I put factory glass in my wife's new CR-V. It was nothing but drama. My Honda parts friend/ manager got me the glass at an excellent price but we had to check for damage before I signed for it. Out of the box it comes and was perfect. So load it back in the box, into the CR-V and off to the glass dude.

Cons: problematic installation, drama
Vehicle: Honda

Just scheduled to have the windshield replaced for a 4th time in 5 years. All replacements have been OEM glass. I don’t even drive the car much just tired of paying my deductible once every year or so. Today I was driving on the highway and randomly heard a small rock hit the windshield and next I noticed there was a small crack on the upper right corner. 10 minutes later it expanded to over 2 feet long. Owned a Camry for over 10 years never had to replace the windshield despite hearing several rocks and chips hitting the windshield. Do I just have bad luck with the Honda Pilot windshields or are they just more prone to breaking.

Cons: prone to cracking, low durability
Vehicle: Honda Pilot

OEM Subaru Windshield

I’m about to replace my 5th windshield on my 2022 Outback. Subaru doesn’t acknowledge anything out of the ordinary. I’ve contacted them multiple times. No impact at all. I park in garage and next day it’s cracked. Totally normal to Subaru.

Cons: cracks appear spontaneously

I’m on like my 5th windshield. I’ve got a split running across half the windshield now that I just have to live with because of these absolutely ridiculously priced windshields that will inevitably crack in less than 30 days after replacing.

Cons: prone to cracking, high price
Vehicle: Subaru Legacy

OEM Honda Windshield

I can’t stand looking thru the windshield and the factory one is just about an inch too tall on its lowest adjustment. It was one of the first things I replaced when I got my wing.

Pros: replaced factory windshield
Cons: too tall windshield

Very strange how we are all having the same problem here and across other media forums.. regarding a crack windshield on a 2023 Honda crv that is also on back order because everyone in the world that has bought this vehicle is having the same issue. Isn’t strange or just a coincidence this is happening. And Honda does not want to claim or assume responsibility for using cheap glass that once a rock hits it, it starts cracking. I have and had many vehicles and never had a rock hits it and get a cracked windshield from one side to the other, it’s usually just a chip. Honda needs to recall this windshield and start paying for every cracked windshield out there. This is the result of cutting costs the consumer always pays out of pocket

Cons: cheap glass, cracks easily, full-width cracks
Vehicle: Honda
