i've put about 2000 miles on a set, and I like em a lot better than the Michelin Pilots that came stock... IMO, they are slightly nosier on the road, but not loud by any stretch. The noise may also be a side effect of siping the tires. Really good grip in the dry and the wet. They were OK in the one snow storm that left anything on the ground this year. Definately not a 'real' snow tire though.

Pros: good grip in dry, wet
Cons: slightly nosier on road
Mileage: 3218 km

The Continental ContiExtreme Contacts are awesome. In my opinion, they are the best kept secret out there for someone who wants a high-performance all-season tire.

Pros: awesome, high-performance

I'll second the continentals. I have them on my car for 2000 miles now and I think they are a great tire, good traction in all conditions. I had 205/50's on my car before and to me, they look too small in the wheel well. Just my opinion.

Pros: good traction, great tire
Cons: look too small
Mileage: 3218 km

I got 205/55/15 Continental ContiExtreme Contact from Tire Rack. I think they were $68/tire. Best all-season performance tire for the price. Great dry, wet, and snow traction.

Pros: Great dry, wet, snow traction

Precisely the reason why I looked for the Conti's on my quiet, silky smooth ride new car. Until I ride in someone's car with better ones, I'm happy.

Pros: quiet, silky smooth ride

my new car, the white love wagon II , came with the conti's but I haven't even begun to break them in, or the engine for that matter with less that 200 mi on the car......but in my first impression the conti's seem quieter that the mxv4 pluses......

Pros: seem quieter
Mileage: 321 km

Another case of 'ignorance is bliss' perhaps, but I'm favorably impressed with my Conti's (8600 miles since new on 9/11) for quietness, ride, and traction (wet/snow).

Pros: quietness, ride, and traction
Mileage: 13840 km

I think the Contis get bashed because they look skimpy and performance leans towards comfort and quiet. I have driven 4000 miles in various conditions and can't complain. They've never squealed, skidded, growled or aquaplaned and they give a silky smooth ride.

Pros: silky smooth ride
Cons: look skimpy
Mileage: 6437 km

Now for tire noise, my Pirelli P7000 Supersports were quiet as could be. I read some posts about noise on them before buying them and thought "noise, what noise???" Well, after about 10k miles on them, they sound like monster truck tires roaring down the road.

Pros: quiet when new
Cons: noisy after 10k miles
Vehicle: Chevrolet Venture
Mileage: 10000 km
