Tires MICHELIN or Kumho

I have always run E-rated michelin's and have never had one issue, not even a flat.

They put Michelin Pilot Super Sports on a car meant to have all-season touring tires

I have some Michelin Defenders TH on my Lexus, they're whisper quiet. They leave some to be desired in wet/snow traction.

I went to PS4S' five years ago and will never go back.

Pro: Softer ride, more quiet and cheaper.

Spend a few more bucks and get Michelin. They will last longer and you’ll have a better ride the whole time. It’s worth the extra few bucks.

Defender 2 is excellent and reasonably priced

I use Michelin 235 40 18 4S on my MK7 with Neuspeed RSe12 8"x18" and the grip is a tick better than the standard size. This combo is also lighter than the stock wheels and tires...and along with the suspension modifications, it's a difficult subject to try to quantify. I am always concerned with wheel and tire weight...that drives my decision making...if you like the look of a 19" rim, go for it. I think that you will find a larger variable between tire types and widths where ultimate grip is concerned...steering response is in theory better with a lower profile tire, but sidewall construction will also affect steering response with a similar tire size range.

The Michelin cross climate tire tends to make some noise. If it’s a consistent even sound and all the tires make the same noise, it’s normal.

They’re absolutely terrible in the snow. I switched to Michelin CrossClimate 2’s.
