Tires Hankook or Pirelli

Pirelli Tires

Yeah the factory Pirelli tires are hot garage. I got new wheels and went Michelin PS4S and the difference in noise was huge. It was strange on the first highway trip, I though they just had a different sound, but it turned out the noise I was hearing was wind noise over the side mirrors that the Pirellis completely masked.

Pros: huge difference in noise
Cons: Pirelli tires are hot garage

I have the Scorpion Verdes on my wife’s RDX, much better than the OEM Michelin’s they replaced. Not a pure snow tire, but not bad.

Pros: much better than OEM
Cons: not a pure snow tire
Vehicle: Acura RDX

Pirelli Tires

I really like Pirelli Scorpion tires. I have used them on a couple different BMW X3's. They are good for snow and bad weather; but not much for off-roading. Scorpions are mid-priced.

Pros: good for snow, good for bad weather
Cons: not much for off-roading
Vehicle: BMW X3

Pirelli Tires

For years I have been using 4seasons, but last year I decided to try something different and replaced them with Pirelli Cinturato Velo TLR. Have been happy with these, my totally unprofessional feeling is that they are a bit more grippy than 4seasons.

Pros: more grippy

Can't comment on loudness as the S2000 is just plain loud, but have run these on the S2000 in both the earlier V12 and later Evo2 variety. pretty happy with them for a street tire, stable in the rain, predictable, and they seem to wear well (S2000's eat rear tires every 10k anyway on proper alignment specs).

Pros: stable in rain, predictable
Cons: none
Vehicle: Honda S2000

I have the V2 Concept2 all-seasons on my Mazda3 and the Ventus V12 Evo K120 summers on my Mustang. You really get what you pay for. The Concept2's have good ride and noise, but the wet performance is abysmal. The Ventus V12s are a decent performance tire but they greatly lack the dry grip of Pirelli P Zeros or Michelins.

Pros: good ride and noise
Cons: abysmal wet performance
Vehicle: Mazda 3

Pirelli Tires

Had the Pirelli P Zero on my 2014 GTI when I originally bought it, and they were probably one of the worst tires I've had the displeasure of experiencing (esp. in the winter).

Pros: null
Cons: worst tires, bad winter
Vehicle: Volkswagen

Hankook Tires

I have 4 on my GLI and I doubt they will last 35,000 km. I took them off and put on my winters at 25K and they don't look like they will last much longer. I don't drive my car hard at all. Last winter, with 5000 to 7000 km on them, I could barely move in a parking lot with 10 cm of snow.

Cons: won't last long
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 25000 km
