Tires BRIDGESTONE or Kumho

BRIDGESTONE Tires

As a counterpoint to the Michelin PSS, I have Bridgestone S04 Pole Position tires and have been very happy with them. Dry and wet performance has been excellent.

Pros: excellent dry and wet performance

BRIDGESTONE Tires

They're sort of expensive I think, but the Bridgestone Battlax S20 is really nice in the wet. I had Pirelli Diablo Corsas and moved away from them specifically because of their poor performance in the wet.

Pros: nice in the wet
Cons: poor performance in wet

Myself I am on stock breaks with upgraded components. I am running 18x8.5 235/40/18 Bridgestone(RE71R) VMR v810 One thing is when or if you lower the car the 8.5 at ET45 wheel might rub.

Pros: good tire size
Cons: might rub

BRIDGESTONE Tires

Stock bridgstones suck in the snow, the best systems can't help wrong tires for the conditions. 18" X-ice3's, have PP and Jb1 power and the traction systems are very impressive in my opinion. The car limits the power aggressively to maintain traction and control even in very slick conditions (good thing).

Pros: traction systems impressive
Cons: stock bridgstones suck

I have blizzak WS80 215 55 R16. I love them. Just waiting for some snow here in the Midwest .But they handled very nicely in a downpour earlier this week.

Pros: handled nicely in downpour

BRIDGESTONE Tires

Found a guy on graigslist selling barely used bridgstone blizzaks, I mounted them on my 17" stock wheels. Went through last winter here in the northeast and I def recommend these!

Pros: definitely recommend

Rating 3.5

I had Kuhmos on both of my MK1 coupes (summer tires, never tried all seasons). They were quiet and comfortable until they weren't. Seemed to be a cliff you go over with them wear-wise. They were great, then very quickly you would get the noise/pounding "change me" stuff. But for the price they were hard to beat. Switched to the PSS on my MKII based on this forum. The Contis were out of stock and I couldn't wait, but they were also a possibility. Ran the PSS tires one season and they were very nice. Still had good performance in both wet and dry compared to the Kuhmos. Can't give you longevity since I traded that buggy in on my present TTS which came stock with Toyos, but I could have made at least one more season on them.

Pros: quiet, comfortable, good wet/dry performance
Cons: quick wear, noisy when worn
Vehicle: Audi TT

BRIDGESTONE Tires

I have the Bridgestone Potenza's that came with my car. I complained about road noise at 5000 miles and VW said "all the GTI's are like that". Then it got louder. So now the car has 16,000 miles on it. It sounds like a 747 is approaching the runway. I will NEVER purchase a Bridgestone product in the future. Anyone else have issues with the Bridgestone Potenza

Pros: good performance
Cons: excessive road noise, uneven wear
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 16000 km
