zhp rack is my favorite mod, and I have many. Even if you're not tracking, the biggest affects to driving feel are steering and tires. The lock-to-lock is largely irrelevant on public roads but the feel makes a big difference vs the other racks.
I just put in a Z3 rack in my 1998 and it is amazing! The steering is amazing! 100% recommend it is not too fast for me at all
I have a yellow tag in my car and I love it
Since it was replaced I'm at 5600 miles and no issues.
When I brought my Honda Civic for the rack replacement on warranty I told them there is a problem with the rack there was no recall at the time I found out it was a silent recall if you didn’t tell them they would not told me I ended up getting it replaced no charge
We just went through this. 3 dealerships and no joke atleast 10 visits. 2 dealerships said the car was fine and safe to drive. We had the recalls done, but the issue was still present. At the 3rd dealership they diagnosed it immediately and said the car needed a new steering rack. They overnighted the part and the car was fixed today. It’s running perfectly now. What pisses me off is, the ran the part under the Honda Care Warranty I made my kid purchase. Yes, I know, waste of money. It’s his first real car and being it was a used car I was overly cautious at the time of purchase. The car is a 2022 civic touring. Wouldn’t the steering rack be covered under warranty as that part has a known fault. What would have happened if I did not make him spend the extra money for the Honda Care. They stated something was broken within the steering rack as the wheel made a noise when you turned it. The car also would swerve while driving at speeds over 35. The lane assist would jerk the car all over and the steering had dead zones which would cause the jerking while trying to stay in lane. I know I should be happy the damn car is fixed and I don’t need to hear my kid say he’s gonna die driving it everyday as it swerves on the road. I do think the cost should be on Honda and not my Honda Care warranty.
First time they replaced the steering rack and pinion. Noise came back after a couple of days.
Got mines done at 8k miles now it's doing it again at 17k miles poorly built Honda
I’ve been having this issue for a year or so and only recently has it started getting worse. ‘22 sport @ 100k miles. I noticed it on the highway a long time ago when making small adjustments to stay in lane. Like initial resistance to break the wheel free before it would actually move. Now it seems to be happening during left turns, it will bind and basically hold the wheel in place and I’ll have to break it free to get to center properly.
Had my steering rack replaced after getting into an accident, the new steering rack is having this issue.
