NGK Spark plug

Rating 4.0

Engine starts better and in some cases the engine runs smoother. The big issue now a days is getting a legit NGK instead of a Chinese knockoff.

Pros: engine starts better
Cons: Chinese knockoff risk

NGK Spark plug

NGK BP7ES replaced the torch that took 3 to 6 attempts to start on LP from large tank every time. Now starts on 1 try every time w the NGK.

Pros: starts on 1 try
Cons: hard to start before
Part number: BP7ES

NGK Spark plug

I decided to try out NGK Ruthenium, and it runs just as good if not better. Ruthenium is much newer technology and is supposed to be able to ignite a larger range of AFR's leading to better throttle response compared to good old iridium.

Pros: better throttle response
Mileage: 210000 km

NGK Spark plug

I have a had a couple of NGK spark plugs with very fragile ceramic insulators over the last few years. I suspect like everybody else they are cutting on QC due to that inflation that officially doesn't exist, especially for made in Japan products.

Cons: fragile ceramic insulators

I’ve kept to stock plugs with stage 1. I tried the recommended “colder” plugs and they failed in less than 10k miles.

Cons: failed in less than 10k
Mileage: 10000 km
