Learned 40 years ago to use NGK. Installed brand new Autolite plugs in my girlfriends Grand Prix and it ran like crap. Went to a speed shop and they sold me a set of NGK. Ran perfectly. Have only bought NGK or Denso since.

Pros: ran perfectly
Cons: ran like crap

spark plugs every 30K with NGK IKR9J8(Iridium plugs better than stock also used on high HP builds). I don't care that the manufacturer suggests longer intervals but i know my engine is healthy and runs almost like new.

Pros: better than stock, engine healthy, like new performance
Part number: IKR9J8

NGK Spark plug

NGK spark plugs feature trivalent plating. This silver or chrome-colored finish on the threads is designed to provide corrosion resistance against moisture and chemicals. The coating also acts as a release agent during spark plug removal. NGK spark plugs are installed at the factory dry, without lubrication or anti-seize. Anti-seize can act as a lubricant, altering torque values up to 20 percent.

Pros: corrosion resistance, release agent, no anti-seize needed

I ordered NGK plugs gapped to factory spec (.032). I didn't pre-check them, but I late went back and checked them and they were all in spec.

Pros: factory spec
Mileage: 65000 km

They run just fine on stock setup. Changed mine 6 months ago once the car was at 30k miles and actually managed to snap one of the plugs in the head ???? Carefully managed to get it out though. No noticeable difference from factory plugs.

Pros: run just fine
Cons: snapped during installation
Mileage: 30000 km

Also dont use plugs for tuned cars if youre not tuned. Tuned cars run colder plugs. They are not the same dont listen to some of these comments lol

Cons: colder plugs, not same

That gap is INSANE, or at least appears to be.

In case you were wondering why those plugs look different, that plug on the left you’ve chosen (BKR5EIX11) is a plug that doesn’t match the longevity characteristics that Nissan originally set. The electrode basically isn’t designed to last as long.

Cons: electrode not designed to last
Vehicle: Nissan Maxima
Part number: BKR5EIX11
