Bilstein 4600 at a minimum. Quality shocks make too big of a difference, you definitely get what you pay for.
The combo 6112/5100s ride much better than stock, although it was a bit firm to start.
I have 6112/5160. Rides well. Quite firm at first but that may have been new springs breaking in.
I had 6112s on my 3rd gen 4R and it drove awesome and felt planted (for a lifted truck). When I bought my 470 it came with 5100s already installed. It feels comparatively tippy/sloppy.
I have 6112 up front with 5100s for the rear. I have upgraded the springs that net me ~.5” lift after adding the RTT, etc. rides great - highly recommend.
I just got four replacement bilstein b4s for my 2015 Golf from rock auto they were $301 shipped. Sure they aren’t the cheapest but it’s still reasonable and you get a lifetime warranty.
I put a set of of monroe oe spectrum for my wife's tahoe 6 months ago and replaced them again yesterday with some billstein 4600s. It's worth spending the extra money on them.
Bilstein B8s
I just put Bilstein 5100’s front and rear on my ‘13 platinum. Just can’t use the sport/comfort modes.
All these shocks like Bilsteins, OME, etc are firmer than OEM, no matter what they say. They will limit lean more than OEM, but they will not be more comfortable overall than a set of new OEM shocks.
