Oil filter AMSOIL or Hengst

Hengst Oil filter

My E550 gets M1 0W40 every 5k, with a new fleece Hengst filter. I don't drive it hard until I see past 80C on the water temp (I don't have an oil temp gauge- only the E63s do). Basically the same procedure I use on my S54 BMWs, and every performance car I've ever owned

Pros: new fleece filter, part of care regimen

AMSOIL Oil filter

I have experience with the long drain intervals from Amsoil. I have 2 dodge vehicles with 3.6L engines both at around 130,000 km and I use the signature series 5w20 with Amsoil filter and I go about 18,000 km before I change the oil.

Pros: long drain intervals
Vehicle: Dodge
Mileage: 130000 km

Hengst Oil filter

I use liqui moly but I have my doubts about whether it actually is *the best* oil. I'm sure it's good, but any oil that meets the spec called out in your owners manual is "good". I place more weight on the filter than anything else. Hengst for me, get that Fram shit outta here.

Pros: good oil, meets spec
Cons: doubts about best oil
Vehicle: Audi

Hengst Oil filter

since vw started using the synthetic material i am very fond of using oem. ive never seen the synthetic material deteriorate or crush in the housing between oil changes. ive also seen the plastic on those types of hengst filters break apart and that scares me to use.

Pros: synthetic material, does not deteriorate
Cons: plastic breaks apart
Part number: HU6002Z
