Oil filter AMSOIL or Hengst

I've tried a number of different filters from OEM, Purolator, Amsoil, and Prova. I will say this. When I used the Amsoil filter and did an oil change, the oil came out looking like it went in. So no, not all filter are created equal. I haven't done an oil change with the Prova yet. Not driving as much with WFH.

Since I've owned it, I've performed all the work listed below with genuine VW parts when possible. I've also flushed the oil with Liqui-Moly engine flush, and performed a Seafoam cleaning. Afterwards, oil was changed to Liqui-Moly 5w40 Synthoil Premium and new Hengst oil filter.

Changed oil at 7556 miles with Amsoil Signature Series 0w20 and an Amsoil filter. I've noticed over time that the oil in the Honda has darkened faster.

I ordered from ECS Tuning - Got 5 qts of Mobil 1 ESP, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, DSG filter, magnetic oil drain plug for $100 shipped. All Hengst or Mann filters.

Amsoil signature series is good for 1 year/25000 miles, and the Amsoil ea filter is good for the same. It is cheaper too. Amsoil has been proven many times over to work.

I run AMSoil European Blend (specifically for VW,AUDI, BMW,) and the filter as well. I change my oil around 4-5K depending on my driving during that time. My oil always comes out slightly 'browned' .... never dark.

I run the 5w30 Amsoil 15,000 mile stuff in our 1.8t... it gets changed once a year. Every 4 months i put a new filter on it and top it off. The samples i've sent in and been returned all looked good if the car is just a driver with some occasional track time i wouldn't sweat running Amsoil or any other really good synthetic 10k or more.

The Hengst filter is great.

That is the filter you need, and the only one you should use!
