Eu tenho um gol 2001. As únicas manutenções esse ano foram a correia dentada que troquei preventivamente, e a bomba de combustível que travou. Muito pouco pra um carro desse ano.
Update on this project: Replaced fuel pump and fuel filter.
I'm on my 5th year on Airtex in my gmt800 and gmt 400.
I went that route and haven’t had any issues, a cold snap of -28f finally did mine in a few years ago after hitting 300k.
High pressure fuel pump sometimes will give up. Sometimes! It is not regular issue. 30min DIY job!
MK6 GTI
I've only had one warranty issue, a fuel pump was acting up. Didn't strand me or anything but was causing a rough idle due to cuting out one time. Restarted the car and it was fine, took it to the dealer anyway and they replaced all the fuel pumps under warranty.
Took great care of my Passat. Recommended oil change interval 10k; I changed every 6k. All oil and fluid changes at the dealership. I only did the filters, spark plugs and serpentine belt.
Problems -
Purge valve has to be replaced at 40k (warranty)
Control arms at 45k (warranty) + alignment
Fuel pump at 62k ($1600)
Entire cooling system replacement at 64k ($3100)
I believe hot weather and cheap plastic causing more harm to this car.
I ordered an Airtex pump for a secondary vehicle I had and it didn’t make it two weeks. What a pisser.
I had the fuel pump die on my vehicle, I replaced it against my better judgement with an airtex (cheapo) pump because it was available and cheap. 6 months later I’m dead on the side of the highway again. Warrantied it with the same pump… lasted 4 months this time before I was stuck again. Replaced it with a delphi brand (oem supplier and almost 3x the price) and it lasted 6 years until I junked the vehicle due to rust.
My Jetta was great until it hit the 135,000 mark. And then my high pressure fuel pump exploded sending shrapnel throughout the entire engine.
