And an electronic fuel pump.
If you can go with Airtex, they’re the original manufacture of the motorcraft part. Literally the same part for much less when I replaced mine.
I took it to the dealer today and they replaced the low pressure (in fuel tank) fuel pump. So far, so good.
Replaced it with an AirTex unit, and it chugged along just fine for 5 years till a rod started knocking...
So it looks like they solved the problem. Swapped out the fuel pump. I guess it was having issues with low fuel pressure. Said they metered it earlier but didn\u2019t find anything. Low and behold, it fixed it.
Easier said than done to install the B6 fuel pump into the corrado tank. The pump fits but the top flange's outer edge needs to be ground to fit the locking collar. Then the inside diameter of the locking collar has to be opened up.
my OE fuel pump is tired, needs to be replaced soon but its check valve is still holding pressure.
Proper diagnostics aside, if you end up replacing the pump, stay away from Airtex.
I bought an “Airtex” brand pump from RA a little less than two years ago. It was starting to fail so just replaced it. Two years is too short.
My wife's has had electronic gremlins since we got it in '21 (it's a MY22).
-Passenger seat heating mat and occupancy sensor was causing codes and had to be replaced (1 week in shop).
-In-tank fuel pump has been replaced twice on recall.
-Some other recall thing that caused it to randomly go into limp mode (1 week in shop).
