I love my Motul Xcess 5W-40, just becoming harder and harder to find.
I use pennzoil euro lx. Seems to work good and doesn’t burn any so
I pay about that. Quality oil and filters cost money. Many shops price oil changes as a loss leader. Euro oil changes are not sold this way, you pay the true price of the service (roughly $80 in supplies, half an hour of labor). I pay ~$160, But you get quality oil in return.
Just finished my break in on Fridays, did a oil change on Sunday with w5-20 penzoil platinum. But I honestly prefer you go with anything besides 0w-20, it’s good and the OEM spec but everyone has seen issues with that oil and it can’t hold well in hot temps which is what this car really is meant to be at hot temps
I made myself the services, and used Motul 7100 10w50, I can feel the gearbox it's smoother.
I use Pennzoil Platinum or Ultra Platinum 5W-30 and the FL400S or an equivalent filter.
OP, love the choice of Pennzoil Ultra Platinum Ultra Synthetic! Anyways, does the jug of Pennzoil Ultra Platinum seem a lot lighter than other 5 qt jugs of oil?
I *always* find Pennzoil Platinum on sale for like $25-ish/ 5qt at either O'Reilly's, NAPA, or Walmart around the time I go to do my oil change. $50-ish total oil changes, never had any issues with any of my cars.
Here is what IAG recommends
FA2ODIT (91 or 930ct) - Motul 5w30 8100 X-clean EFE, change oil every 2500-3000 miles
Motul 5w-40 8100 X-clean Gen2 may be used in climates where the average ambient temperature is above 80° fahrenheit. It is important to note that the oil used must carry the GM dexos 2 rating.
I jumped on the Pennzoil Ultra Plat bandwagon and have no complaints.
