Engine oil Mobil or Motorex

Mobil Engine oil

Owner's Manual recommends 5W40; but says that any oil that meets the VW 502.00 specification is fine. I've used that Mobil1 European Car Formula 0W40 since our two 2009 Mk5's (Jetta and GLI) were new, with no problems. Specifically zero oil use between changes.

Pros: zero oil use

Mobil Engine oil

I will say after switching to mobil1 in one of my rigs it cleaned out a hell of a lot of shitty carbon deposits and crap in the valvetrain. Looked nearly new when I pulled the valve cover at 210 thousand miles.

Pros: cleaned carbon deposits
Vehicle: Chevrolet
Mileage: 210000 km

So, again, I bought a new one and threw it on just last night. I took it for a ride to get it warmed up and I'm still having low oil pressure.

Cons: low oil pressure
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 115000 km
