Castrol Engine oil

My car is at \~7600 miles. I changed the oil at 500, 5000 and then I'll change it again at 10,000. I used Castrol Edge 5w30 for the first two and I'll use it for the third oil change as well. I'm going to send a sample of the oil at the 10k change to Blackstone Labs to see how the Castrol is doing.

Pros: sending oil sample to lab
Mileage: 7600 km

Castrol Engine oil

I would recommend the Castro Edge PROFESSIONAL 0w-20. Been using it in my wife’s LR4 since we got it and it was the consensus on best oil when I first did my research. It’s a little pricey but we’ve had zero engine issues with this.

Pros: zero engine issues
Cons: a little pricey
Vehicle: Land Rover

Shell Engine oil

Rotella 5w-40, for no other reason than it is good oil that I can use in every internal combustion engine I own, including wet clutches.

Pros: good oil
Cons: too thin IMO

Castrol Engine oil

I use Castrol Synthetic 10w-30 on mine.

It’s thicker oil, so I feel like it gives the engine better protection. With 272k miles on it, I figured why not.

Pros: better engine protection
Cons: thicker oil
Mileage: 437734 km
