Engine oil Castrol or MOTUL
I have been using Motul’s 5w40 8100 X-Cess gen2 since I got my car. 2017 Subaru sti EJ257. Built 418 whp No issues every couple oil changes I like to try some Motul 5w50 in there for 2500km or so then switch back to 5w40
I use Motul Sport 5w40 now called (8100 Power) with ester. I've been using it since day 1 of ownership back in 2019. Best oil, no complaints.
Motul 5w-40 300V. 120k kilometers, Stage2 REVO, it doesn't burn.
I switched to synthetic after doing a piston soak. Sticking with synthetic here on out. I initially ran conventional Castrol 5/30 then blend as conventional was not available through Amazon and then synthetic to try to stave off carbon build up on rings after a successful piston soak.
From my past 2 year experience, I’d suggest you to go for 5w30 but with an imported brand from a reliable source. Amsoil, Liquimoly, Motul are some household names.
I've been using Castrol Edge 5w-40 for years and have had good results, but wondering what others are using. I initially used Mobil1 0w-40 but got a lot of lifter noise which disappeared after switching to Castrol.
Castrol 5w30 high mileage performance, keeps the sucker in tiptop shape
My 25 year old Camry requires 5W-30 and I use Castrol Edge. I also put 1 litre of Castrol GTX 15W-40 oil into the mix - it's supposed to have anti sludge properties and also lowers the overall cost.
Doesn't really matter that much, we ran 0W-20 for a while and now have 0W-30 A5 in our Civic.
Castrol edge is junk.
