I have a Camaro SS 1LE (~3800 lbs w/me) and I basically run Hawk 60's on the street and track ( I don't drive on the street much). I also used Carbotech XP12's before. I don't get any brake fade with either one.
I emailed HAWK over two weeks ago. They thanked my for my contact and query, but haven't responded with a suggested product. I've been running their pads on my Mk6R and have been very pleased with the lack of brake dust and the bite of the braking.
HAWK Pads are top notch
Zimmerman rotors and Hawk HPS 5.0 pads on all four corners. Not the first time I've used Hawks like these, but they feel pretty good so far. Using Motul 600 fluid.
Audi 4 piston front brakes - 26lbs lighter
I prefer Hawk Truck pads. Been using them on my tree for 20 years. Get good life out of them. Check pad wear. Mine squeak under light braking when dusty.
People can talk all they want but I had a 2017 A4 bought at 32k miles and sold with 94k 2.5 years later in 2022 and it was by far the most reliable and hassle free car I ever had. Nothing but routine maintenance, in that period I didn’t even have to change the brakes.
Hawk Street 5.0 have been better at stopping than stock, lasted over 25k miles with about 60% left, and have dramatically less dusting than stock.
Since starting my drive from NY to NJ daily, ALL my previous cars, Audi Q5 and Toyota Sienna, will start "brake and shake" or was it "shake and brake".. at about a year in at around 10k-15k miles. I am guilty of heavy braking so with it comes excess wear.
As good as they are I had to stop using them because of the dust. Ruined the clear coat on my rims. Also the noise when coming to a gentle stop
