Brake job coming up this weekend. New rotors (Centric blanks, OEM size) are still in transit to my door... but here's the good stuff. Ferodo DS2500 brake pads and RBS600.
I ran with Ferodo DS2500s. They work incredibly well for light track use (my street tires overheat before the brakes ever fade), they are dead silent, and, somehow, very low dust. They are more expensive than most other pads though and probably excessive for most people in their capabilities.
After 217k on my 93 Eurovan I am still on my original rotors. I do change pads every 35-40k usually Bendix
oh and i replaced my craptastic wagner thermoquiet pads with bendix pads much better feeling on the pad and the calipers dont seem to get so hot
front - 9.4in vented rotors ferodo ds2500 fastroad pads rear - swapped to discs mk4 calipers ferodo ds2500 fastroad pads
overhauled the brakes(all 4 corners): -calipers(rebuild) -discs(brembo) -pads (ferodo ds2500)
The rear brake pads I use all the time are ferodo 2500, they are great for the track and don't make noise on the street.
I used Ferodo DS-2500 and Mintex Redbox on my 337, and that was my favorite brake setup of three VWs to date. Then there is my brother-in-law's 335i Sport My goal with the 337 was to delay ABS activation, as I thought that the rear was overbraked. I don't recall whether the new pad setup helped in that regard, but the DS-2500 improved the initial bite a lot.
Yeah use OEM rotors with DS2500 pads. That will be a great setup! Actually, DS2500 might be a bit too much for street, since they are pretty dusty and a little noisy.
