Brake pads EBC or Mintex

EBC Brake pads

I just got green stuff for my wife’s ‘14 sport. It does feel better under braking than it did feel. I just used stock type rotors as it isn’t aggressively driven so no need for better cooling.

Pros: better braking feel

EBC Brake pads

I installed EBC Red Stuff street/track pads on my 2008 Mazda 6 about 10 or so years ago - front pad set only. I selected the Red Stuff pads because I wanted the performance of a trackable pad set, and I got it! The pads were also advertised to be a "low dust" formulation, which we all desire, of.course. I installed them with ceramic pad grease, and did the brake pad bedding procedure as specified by EBC. Prior to installing and bedding the pads, I had the beginnings of very slight front brake pulsation/lateral rotor runout. Believe it or not, this pulsation/runout was resolved after performing the bed in procedure and did not recur. I got the performance increase that I sought - the difference was GREAT, even though I did the front pad set only and the car's stopping power was already good. I found that the pads were not really low dust, at least by my interpretation.

Pros: increased stopping power, resolved pulsation
Cons: not low dust
Vehicle: Mazda 6

I'm running EBC's GPFAX on my 636 and Vesrah RJL on the R3. EBC is great bang for the buck, plenty of confidence, never had fade, great bite. Far better than OEM.

Pros: great value, good bite, no fade
Part number: GPFAX

I'm on stock rotors and calipers and it's all I need. Making 330whp/330wtq and it stops just fine.Stronger initial bite which gives the feeling of stronger brakes. Definitely better than OEM. Zero squeak/squeal with good ceramic lube

Pros: stronger bite, better than OEM
Cons: none
Vehicle: Subaru

EBC Brake pads

I went EBC red stuff with slotted single piece rotors. They are okay, but not more than that. I pretty regularly drive them to fade on the street (I live in a very lightly populated rural area with lots of twisty roads).

Pros: Okay performance
Cons: Prone to fading

when i bought my girling 60 setup the seller threw in a set of mintex red box pads.....i hate them. i was never impressed with the red box's in other cars but on my setup they squealed like crazy when i was off the brakes. i too had the issue with the pads overhanging into the center of the rotor but i took a rolox disc on a die grinder and took a little off the inner portion of the pads. even after doing that they still squeal. plus theyre a real dirty pad and after about 10k miles i only have about 50% pad life left.

Pros: none
Cons: squealed, dirty, wore fast
Mileage: 10000 km
