I just did Akebono ProAct pads and Advics ultra-premium rotors from Rockauto. I'm pretty happy with these. Was using Wagner pads, the initial bite was better but the amount of brake dust was pretty substantial in comparison.

Pros: happy with them
Cons: more brake dust

Hawk Performance Brake pads

Hawk Blues are the best I’ve driven on a street driven 930 being used on the track. Thousands of laps with different compounds. Or HPS+ if you’re not that aggressive.

Pros: best on track

I use Hawk Blues on-track and street pads off. Pads are so easy to change on our cars that it is only a 30 minute job to swap before each track day once you have some practice. The Blues are very abrasive and will clean any bedding material off the rotor if you just lightly ride the brakes for a few minutes while the pads are cold. The Blues have plenty of stopping power when cold on the street, but squeal a lot and eat through rotors very quickly. On-track they have been fade-free for me with excellent modulation using ATE TYP200 brake fluid.

Pros: easy to change, good modulation
Cons: squeal a lot, eat rotors quickly
Vehicle: Porsche

Akebono Brake pads

I prefer non-OEM pads (Akebono) so I go with my Indy for that, though the value service pricing is super competitive and honestly impossible for Indys to really match? $99 oil change is so low margin

Pros: value service pricing
Cons: non-OEM pads

Since acquiring my A6, it’s had everything done in dealer. I recently got my brakes done by a friend who has a shop near my job. However, doesn’t mention that he slapped Akenono pads on the car. These Akebono pads are spanking new and they’re sooooooooooooo loud. I drove it around for a week or so, sound is still there. Took it back to him, he “sanded” something and now the car makes a god awful squeak/groan when lightly applying the brakes lmao. What’s crazy is that I’ve used Akebono in my E46 and my Mini and never had this problem. Anywho, the car stops perfectly, just fucking loudly lol.

Pros: stops perfectly
Cons: loud squeak/groan
Vehicle: Audi A6

Hawk Performance Brake pads

I used these for a track day and the dust melted/hardened onto my wheels and spent days scrubbing with different wheel cleaners and chiseling it off.

Cons: dust melted, hard to remove
